Over the course of the last three months, I had the pleasure of studying Chinese with Ms. Tsai. I took Mandarin tuition from Valeria in the Spring of 2021 due to a posting from Singapore to Taiwan. My issues were a lack of understanding of business Mandarin, and a lack of recognition for traditional Mandarin characters. Valeria assisted by first evaluating my level of competency in both everyday and business Mandarin before catering a bespoke program over 10 weeks to help me gain the level of proficiency and confidence to work in Taiwan.

Although the lessons were online (due to Covid restrictions at the time), the lessons were delivered efficiently, and it centred around listening, comprehension, reading, and writing. The constant practice and gradual increase in difficulty was introduced seamlessly and made the lesson fun, engaging and effective. When Valeria understood I competently covered a level, suitable tests were issued to verify that objective. During times of leaps of difficulty that I cannot keep up, Valeria is able to scale back and reintroduce concepts at a pace that I was able to catch.
